Have you ever asked questions like these?
“Where do women, faith, and femininity fit in the story of what God is doing in the world?”
“How as a brother in Christ can I love my sisters well?”
“What can the lives and stories of those who have gone before us teach us about following Jesus?”
“Am I the right “type” of girl?”
“Is there a place for the gifts, skills, and talents that I have in the church?”
“How can I engage with Scripture and church history as a visual learner?”
If any of these resonate, perhaps a study trip to the Old World is in your future.
Eighteen months ago I traveled to Italy with my doctoral class to study the visual record of women in the early church. (See my last post for details.) One of my classmates, Christian Williams, is taking up the torch and leading her own group in April 2025—not an academic class, not just for women. It’s for everyone.
I’ve added a video from our trip to show you a snippet—just part of one day we spent in Florence—that reflects the kinds of sights you will see. Art, cathedrals, historic landmarks, new friends and experiences, pizza, gelato, and cappuccinos . . .
