Hierarchical Gender Ideology Needs a Holy Shift

"I spent my 27th birthday—twenty years ago today—giddy about my upcoming wedding. I never imagined that two decades later, I would be sharing insights on how to prevent, recognize, and heal from a destructive marriage.
My healing journey led me into communities where throngs of women described similar (or far more devastating) backgrounds and relationships. Our shared experiences sparked my curiosity about the relationship between hierarchical gender ideology and abuse. My research results shocked even me and now compels me to share my story in hopes of helping other women feel less alone—and more empowered—in theirs.
